More baby shower projects and Blog Candy!!!

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry for the major lack in posting. No, my vacation wasn't that long, but the kids are home for the summer, so it's a little harder finding time to blog. I had the best time with my Aunt and family in Portland, Oregon. What a beautiful place! We were there on one of the clearest days and from one spot (Pittock Mansion), we could see Mt. Ranier, Mt. St. Helens, Mt Adams, Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson. I was so disappointed as I forgot my zoom lens:( Anyway, here's a photo that I took from the plane on the way home. I'm not even sure which mountain this is, but thought it was so cool coming up through the clouds.

When I got home, I began working on the baby shower favors. I didn't realize that I had less than two weeks to make 35 favors and finish the banner I started, but I managed to get them done just in time. Here are photos of them:

I got the idea for this favor on Dawn Olchefske's blog. She has a video tutorial that can be found here:

I love her blog! If you haven't visited, you will find so much inspiration there. (Thank you, Dawn! The mother-to-be loved them!:)

I wanted to have a little fun and do a little blog candy giveaway. I have 6x6 packages of unused colors from the Pattern/Prints Packs from previous years. They are 2-sided, have 6 designs and there are 2 sheets of each for a total of 12 sheets. I have 7 packs. The 1st place winner will be able to choose 3 of the 7, the 2nd place winner will then choose the next 2 colors and the 3rd place winner will be sent the remaining 2. Here are the colors that I have:

2-Apricot Appeal
Bashful Blue
Certainly Celery
Pretty In Pink
2- Wild Wasabi

For a chance to win, all you have to do is leave a comment with your answer to the following question: Out of the colors that were recently retired, which one will you miss the most? And which of the new colors is your favorite?

I will announce the winners here on my blog on Friday morning, July 30th.

To those of my stamp/blogging friends that were able to go to the Stampin' Up! Convention this year, I hope you had a wonderful time and I'm really looking forward to going next year!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

  1. You have taught me so much and I am very grateful for that. I will miss several colors that retired but Orchid Opulence comes to mind. For some reason there doesn't seem to be much variety in the purple family. I have two favorites and they both are in-colors. I love Poppy Parade and Concord Crush. Thanks again for sharing your talent and kindness with me. Cathleen

  2. Julie: Even tho I have not formally met you I feel like I know you so well. I absolutely am enthralled with the work that you do. Everything is so complete and designed in such a way that all of the colors complement each other and the stamp which is put on the card. As for the color I hated to see go was the blush blossom and as for the new one I like it would be the peach parfait (although I have not used it yet), it just appeals to me. Thanks for all of your help and I can't wait to meet you in the fall. Sunny
