Fall Demo Event Make-n-takes (Part 2)

Good Morning Stamp Friends!

Today I'm back with the last of the Make-n-takes. These were the Prize winning cards.

The third place card features the "Christmas Deer", "Lovely as a Tree" & "Petite Pairs" stamp sets. I love the colors! We stamped the frees  first and then sponged the sky in Pool Party. Then we stamped and embossed the deer and added the ornaments, etc. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't own the "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set prior to this event. After this event, I had a list of things to order, so I just ordered both "Lovely as a Tree" and the "Christmas Deer" stamp sets because of this gorgeous card!

3rd place-Margaret Hall

The second place card was made using the "Ornament Keepsakes" & "More Merry Messages" stamp sets. I love how she did the ornament! She also used the "Be of Good Cheer" Designer Series Paper. What a fun and festive card!

2nd place- Amy Kendall

And for first place is a very unique card that was designed using the Two Tags die. I love how it looks like a little present and when you untie it, the inside drops down. How cool is that? Also used were the "Mixed Medley", "Joyous Celebrations" & "Greetings of the Season" stamp sets.

1st place- Sandi Flowers

Isn't it beautiful? Great job Sandi!

Thank you ladies for these gorgeous cards!

I will be back tomorrow with the swaps from this event. Until then...have a great day!

Fall Demo Event Make-n-takes

Hello Stamp Friends!

I'm back today with some of the make-n-takes that were brought to Debbie's Fall Demo Event this past weekend. For the make-n-takes, we had to design a Christmas card that would take 10 minutes or less to complete. You will see that some of them obviously took more than 10 minutes, but the cards were so gorgeous, no one complained:)

(I know that some of the cards were cased from other stampers, so if you see your card, please tell me so I can give you credit. )

Yesterday, I mentioned that there were 18 participants, but I forgot that there were some last minute cancellations, so there was a total of 15 people including myself. I shared my card yesterday and I will be back tomorrow with the top 3 prize winning cards:)

Aren't these cards awesome? I couldn't have been happier! Thanks so much ladies for your creativity and inspiration:)

Thanks so much for coming by today. I hope you're having a great day!

Fall Demo Event Cards

Hello Stamp Friends!

I bet you thought I disappeared again, didn't you? I actually had to take a short break to get ready for a big Demonstrator event that my upline, Debbie puts together every Fall. This year there were 18 of us and we each had to design a card that would take 10 minutes or less to put together and that we would be able to demonstrate if we were to have a holiday workshop. We had to pre-cut the card bases and layers and have all of the supplies for everyone to make it.  We made all of the make-n-takes and then we voted for our top 3 cards. There were prize give-a-ways for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place cards. My card wasn't a prize winning card, but I hope everyone liked it. Here it is:

I used the new Snow Flurry die for this card. I started with the Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper first. I chose the stripped paper for the bottom and went with the Lucky Limeade paper for the top. I pulled out the coordinating card stock colors and played around with the layers until they looked well together. Then I added the ribbon, snowflake and sentiment (from the "Greetings of the Season" stamp set). It's not my favorite card, but I thought I did pretty good. I will be back to share the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cards later.

Now I would like to share my swap card. I bought this stamp set, because I love the adorable images in the set. I chose the penguin for the main focal point. Coloring him wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I colored the stamp with the markers. The hat is so close to the top of his head, so it was hard not getting black ink on his hat and scarf. The rest was pretty easy, but coloring 18 of them was very time consuming. I guess it didn't help that I was watching one of my favorite shows while doing it. LOL! I love Bering Sea Gold:) I'm a reality TV-a-holic! Anyway, here is my swap card:

What do you think? I'm really happy with this one. The penguin is just too cute and I couldn't be happier with the gorgeous Designer Series Paper, (Snow Festival) and the beautiful ribbon Stampin' Up! has for us to create. I just love how everything coordinates.

Anyway, I have so much to share from the event that I went to on Saturday, so I hope you will come back tomorrow for more of the projects we made. Everyone did such a great job. I love events like these, because I come home totally inspired and want to make something else. (Though I didn't, because it was pretty much an all day event). Debbie made a fantastic lunch and dinner for us and a couple volunteers brought some delicious desserts as well! Debbie, thank you so much for such a great event!

Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Owl Occasions Birthday

Good Morning Stamp Friends!

Today I would like to share the birthday card I made for my friend, Joyce.

I'd been dying to make something with this set. I knew I wanted to use the Labels Collection Framelits for the frame, so I cut out the white layer. Next I stamped the branch, the leaves in Old Olive, the presents in Real Red and Pumpkin Pie, the balloon in Marina Mist, then I decided to change it to Daffodil Delight, so I cut it out and added it with a dimensional. Then I reached for the Rich Razzleberry ink. That's when I realized that I was using all of the colors in the Polka Dot Parade DSP. I thought I would have to figure out a way to use the DSP as well. I wound up cutting strips and used it for the background. I made the card base and the background Chocolate Chip. I left the bottom white and added the sentiment. I added the ribbon to separate the DSP and the sentiment.

Supplies Used-

Stamps:
Owl Occasions & Blooming with Kindness
Paper:
Chocolate Chip, Whisper White & Polka Dot Parade
Ink:
Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight & Stamin’ Markers (Rich Razzleberry & Marina Mist)
Other:
Big Shot & Labels Collection Framelits, 1/8” Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon & Stampin’ Dimensionals©

What do you think? I'm in love with this stamp set and look forward to making many more projects with it.

Thanks so much for coming by today and I hope your day is great!

Hello Stamp Friends!

I hope you all had a great weekend. I hope you didn't think I had given up on posting regularly, because I took the day off yesterday. I went out with our stamp group to celebrate two birthday's in our group. We went to the Bonefish Grill and had a great time.

Here's one of the cards I made for the celebration. This one was made for my direct upline, Becky. I have been wanting to make something with this set for a while and finally sat down and did it! I'm very happy with the outcome and she really seemed to like it too:)

Perfectly Preserved & Petite Pairs

Paper:
Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango & Floral District DSP

Ink:
Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango & Jet Black StazOn

Googly Ghouls

Hello Stamp Friends!

Today I would like to share a couple projects made with the "Googly Ghouls" stamp set. First, is a quick and easy card that I made. I saw the most adorable bags on the Late Night Stampers Demo Only Yahoo group by starzlmom28. If you belong to that group, you can click on her name and you'll have to sign in to see the bags.

I decided to change it into a card. I started with a Tangerine Tango card base and then I ran my basic black layer through the Big Shot using the Spider Web embossing folder. I wanted to add some sparkle to it, so it would stand out more. I filled my Stampin' Spritzer bottle about 80% full with rubbing alcohol. Then I added about 4 drops of the Frost White Shimmer Paint and after putting the lid on tight, I shook it really well. I then laid down some of the brown paper that comes in our Stampin' Up! orders and sprayed it a few times (until it was covered) and let it dry.

Next, I stamped my bat and I cut him out, because I wanted extra dimension. He is put on with a Stampin' Dimensional. I used one of the round tags from the Ghoulish Goolies Designer Kit. I love how it fits perfectly inside the 2 3/8" scallop circle. I put Stampin' Dimensionals between the scallop circle and the tag. My scallop was put on with Snail Adhesive. Then I added the Googly Eyes. That bat is just too cute!

For my "BOOOO" sentiment, I stamped it on a piece of white card stock that I had previously cut out using the Itty Bitty Banners framlits. I knew I'd probably be using these a lot, so I cut out a bunch and put them in a left over embellishment container. I then cut a couple small pieces of ribbon and folded them over, cutting off the ends and stuck them to the bottom of the sentiment with glue dots. Then I put it on with dimensionals and added the Googly Eyes. I thought this would be a nice card for a kid.

Next, I had to share a project that we made at my upline's house using the same stamp set. This time we used the witch and spider images from the stamp set. Isn't this darling?

I love everything about this! That little pinwheel couldn't be cuter and I love the cotton ribbon tied around the handle and the way she tied on the spider tag with Linen Thread. I do have the most amazing upline!

I'm sitting here in a very quiet house. Both of my boys had a sleepover at the neighbors house last night and my hubby went shopping. I could hear a pin drop in here. I have a couple birthday cards I need to make, so I better take advantage of this quiet.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Blue Ribbon Masculine card

Hello & Happy Friday Stamp Friends!

Today I would like to share a card that I made using the Blue Ribbon stamp set. I wanted to make something masculine and I saw the cutest card made by one of my favorite stampers, Anne Marie. Click on her name to see her card:) I didn't want to make the exact same card, (I'm really trying to push myself to make my own) but I loved the DSP she used and I still have a lot of that ribbon (I wish Stampin' Up! would bring it back in more colors:) and thought it was great for masculine cards. After looking through the Festival of Prints paper stack, I saw this stripped design and thought the color was great for a masculine card. I added the Island Indigo layer and the Very Vanilla layer at the top, but it was too plain, so I embossed it using the Argyle Embossing Folder. I love that folder!!! On my first attempt, it didn't have the ribbon slide. I wound up adding it later and that night at a meeting, I shared both cards. My friends agreed that the ribbon slide was just the touch that it needed.

Supplies Used-

Stamps:
Blue Ribbon

Paper:
Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla & Festival of Prints Series paper stack

Ink:
Early Espresso

Other:
1 3/8” Circle punche, Early Espresso Quilted Satin Ribbon (retired), Argyle Embossing Folder, Designer Ribbon Slide & Stampin’ Dimensionals©

I also wanted to share this beautiful card that one of my dearest friends sent to me. Isn't this gorgeous? It's a little hard to see in the photo, but there is a vellum layer over the butterfly. It makes it look so elegant. I love those flowers! She embossed them with white embossing powder. Candi, thank you so much for thinking of me (literally:) I love my card!

Thanks so much for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Fall Card Swap Christmas cards (Part 2)

Hello Stamp Friends!

Today I would like to share the last of the Fall Swap Cards. Here is the second half of the Christmas cards.

Jen M.

Melanie H.

Robin B.

Rosie T.

Sandy F.

Thank you so much, ladies for these gorgeous cards! The last card is called a Zig-zag card. I had to take a picture of it (besides the scan), so you can see the whole thing. (Click to enlarge photo:)

This really gave me ideas for the grandparents. I can attach photos of the boys, etc.

So what have I been up to? I've been working on making treat bags for the kids classmates for Halloween. One of my boys has 20 classmates and the other has 25! That doesn't include the teachers. I know some of you might think I'm nuts, but I love dimension, so after stamping all of the mummies, I'm cutting them out. I still have a ways to go, but that's why I started this project so early,

Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed all of the cards from Amy's Fall Swap. I think this was one of the best swaps I ever participated in. Thank you so much ladies for your awesome creativity. The ideas are spinning in my head!

I can't believe the weekend is almost here. Where did this week go? I hope you all have a great day!
