Blue Ribbon Masculine card

Hello & Happy Friday Stamp Friends!

Today I would like to share a card that I made using the Blue Ribbon stamp set. I wanted to make something masculine and I saw the cutest card made by one of my favorite stampers, Anne Marie. Click on her name to see her card:) I didn't want to make the exact same card, (I'm really trying to push myself to make my own) but I loved the DSP she used and I still have a lot of that ribbon (I wish Stampin' Up! would bring it back in more colors:) and thought it was great for masculine cards. After looking through the Festival of Prints paper stack, I saw this stripped design and thought the color was great for a masculine card. I added the Island Indigo layer and the Very Vanilla layer at the top, but it was too plain, so I embossed it using the Argyle Embossing Folder. I love that folder!!! On my first attempt, it didn't have the ribbon slide. I wound up adding it later and that night at a meeting, I shared both cards. My friends agreed that the ribbon slide was just the touch that it needed.

Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla & Festival of Prints Series paper stack

I also wanted to share this beautiful card that one of my dearest friends sent to me. Isn't this gorgeous? It's a little hard to see in the photo, but there is a vellum layer over the butterfly. It makes it look so elegant. I love those flowers! She embossed them with white embossing powder. Candi, thank you so much for thinking of me (literally:) I love my card!

Thanks so much for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
